Ida was born in Larvik, Norway, where she received her dance training through Studio Nille, Thor Heyerdahl vgs and youth company Kick Off. After graduating with a BA(hons) Dance Theatre from Laban, she has worked as an arts administrator for Orchestra of St Johns, Greenwich Theatre and Greenwich Dance Agency.

Her work as a producer includes Revylusjon, a graduation show in 2002, and she was founder/producer of Norwegian graduate exhibition Norskart in 2005, now an annual event in London.

Currently working as a freelance dance artist, Ida is a founder member of MIKS. Projects include; Lionel Popkin (Elephant Gardens 2004), Juanjuan Sun (Processing 2006), Athina Vahla (Sacred Geometries 2004, Wrestling With and Angel 2004, Research/Response/Making 2008, Objects of Friction and Fact 2008), Frauke Requardt (Amazing Kate 2006, Flappers 2008), KompaniKontra (Vingespenn 2009) and Annika Ostwald/InTransit (Innanför Innsidan 2009).
